I don't think partially genderswapped group is a good tag. There's 34k posts under genderswap -solo, and the vast majority are of a single instance of a genderswapped character.

This should just be called multiple genderswaps, like the rest of our multiple_* tags.

I don't know why posts like this would count towards this tag? The unnamed people who were created for the post don't have a "base gender."

i think for posts where you have the character and their genderswap the dual persona should be enough. at most it would be something like object and personification like character and genderswap

maybe you want multiple genderswaps for more than 1 and everyone genderswapped for more posts with all characters genderswapped? tbh this tag name sucks because if there is only 1 or 2 genderswaps then the name of the tag sounds like it applies so it would be used in all posts

an alternative would be too many genderswaps for 3+ genderswaps. this at least fits the other tags we have.

partially genderswapped group feels like an attempt at searching for something specific with a net that's too wide.

If you want to search for a specific concept, you should propose that instead. There's many things you could be trying to search for:

• a genderswapped character having sex/romantic interactions with a non genderswapped character
• a genderswapped character being imbarassed/teased/out of place specifically due to their swapping
• post #9757800: an ensemble of characters turned into a single gender, where it was previously a mixed group
• post #1032832: the swapping of an entire cast of characters to invert dynamics (all women to men, all men to women)

These are all valid user cases, but you're just making your life harder by dumping them all into the same tag, which could balloon to thousands of posts, thus making individual cases impossible to search.

I still don't know how to approach the multiple genderswaps question. I thought about it, and it seems we would want tags for:

• more than one genderswap: multiple genderswaps
• this is not necessary if we just keep fully genderswapped group and don't care about pics where multiple people but not everyone has been genderswapped

• everyone has been genderswapped, but for >2 people, otherwise it would be most of multiple genderswaps: fully genderswapped group
• could just be called group genderswap, but it's not clear from the name that it's a large group and it's for everyone in the pic. for now fully genderswapped group can stay I suppose

• the gender has been "normalized" from a mixed group of characters, ie 4boys 2girls becomes 6girls or 6boys: genderswapped into one gender
• not a great name because people could mistake it for 6girls -> 6boys, also has the problem that it could be applied to just 2 people and that would be most of genderswap

• genderswap on genderswap, for tags of genderswap on genderswap sex (on, not with, because "with" might be mistaken with multiple genderswaps)

I'd like to propose another tag to co-exist with genderswap on genderswap, which would be genderswap on non-genderswap. This would include posts involving a genderswapped character being romantically involved with a character who wasn't genderswapped.

I think there'd be value in also having genderswapped into yuri/genderswapped into yaoi/genderswapped into hetero, but it depends on how many posts we have. I'm thinking about something like "this relationship is normally hetero, but one character has been genderswapped and now it's yuri". I guess the idea I have in my head is more of a tag for "heterosexual into homosexual via genderswap" and viceversa, but I don't know how to phrase it.

I like these concepts, but these suggestions still leave a hole for posts like:

This type of post is rare, certainly much rarer than:

• platonic gender swaps, converting characters of different genders into the same

You can find many such posts using the searches below, but not all of them match.

After further consideration, I think "yuri" or "yaoi" in a tag name isn't a good option. Both genderswap for a regular woman and for a futa woman are simply tagged as "genderswap_(mtf)", so "genderswap_(hetero_to_yuri)" would also need to have a lot of sister tags, like "genderswap_(hetero_to_futa_with_female)".
