Prompted by BUR #55701, this is silly. _(game) is another option, but the tag for a marathon should just be a marathon. I don't expect too much art featuring the real-world location so that's unlikely to cause much of an issue.

Well sure those are all things called a marathon but I doubt that any of that comes to mind before a marathon being a sports event.
If people want to see cars racing, we literally have racing. You might refer to playing a long amount of a video game or watching a show as a marathon but we have watching television and playing video games. How valid really is it to consider that "marathon" is used - rather, has been repurposed - to mean things other than a sports one, or that the extended meaning(s) are what people are going to expect to want to see when they search marathon?
Sounds good to me. Moving marathon to marathon_(series) also opens up more room for tagging individual games from the original trilogy if the need ever arises, as opposed to lumping everything under marathon_(game).
