EOT is an adaptation of the Light Novel.
While its a loosely inspired live action adaption, it's pretty far and away from the original.
It's sort of like implying Blade Runner (Series) to Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? just doesn't feel useful or correct.

It’s more like Dragon Ball Evolution to Dragonball (not talking of quality here lol), it’s even called All You Need Is Kill over in Japan, it’s an official adaptation not just inspired.

This makes sense to me. The characters are different, but the plot is broadly the same with some minor differences, more so than the recent anime film; it was released under the same title in Japan, it was greenlit under the same title as the original but the title later got changed to something else to be more marketable. I don't see why we shouldn't do this. If the exact same movie had been released as All You Need Is Kill in the US, I don't think this would even be a question.
