Mog is currently used for two completely different FF characters from different games. Neither of them had their own tags until I made them just now. If you're wondering about the overlap, FF VI Mog is the default, except for post #1307540 (only the FF IX Mog) and post #564833 (only post where both of them are together).

It’s also a bad tag name due to being a brainrot term in modern parlance, thus REALLY needing to be qualified lol

I was about to make a thread for that. Yeah, it's a race, so no reason for it to be the odd one out among other FF races. It seems that it fell through the cracks during the transition to gentags for races.

What do you mean? It's not like it's mandatory for an image to have character tags, plenty of tarutaru or au ra pics have only generic members of their race with no character tag.

Those race tags were previously character tags until my effort in topic #19866, where a substitute chartag was introduced. The same happened in topic #32265.
