The bulk update request #51322 (forum #400974) has been rejected by @DanbooruBot.
Mascot itself isn't a good tag. It's hard to define in a way that doesn't include characters like Mario or Sonic or Pikachu. If you define it as "small creature associated with a character" you end up with something almost the same as creature or familiar.
With Vtubers, many characters have both a fan mascot and a non-fan mascot. This can be something like a familiar, pet, creature, or some other kind of sidekick character. See: Ebi-chan (fan mascot for chumbuds) vs Bloop (non-fan mascot), Investigator (fan mascot) vs Bubba (pet). So this distinction between fan mascots and non-fan mascots isn't very meaningful, they both basically function the same as little sidekick characters.
