Here's the justification made for adding that to the wiki given in forum #135224:

Edited the white bikini wiki to some degree.
I really don't think that striped bikinis should have that tag since it would only pollute the white bikini search since most striped bikinis have white in them.

I don't think this is a good reason to exclude them wholesale like this. I can understand not tagging it when the colored stripes are at least as thick as the white stripes (since the non-white color would likely be the one people are more likely to think about when asked to describe it), but this doesn't account for cases in which the white stripes are the thickest part. In those cases, it would make more sense to tag it as white_bikini + striped_bikini.

if the white stripes tag hadn't been nuked we could have used it for this

then white checkers and white argyles

i also think the "no stripes" rule is pretty unclear or at least too vague, it doesnt take into account mismatched bikinis like post #9696262 or elaborate bikinis with multiple colors including stripes and lots of white like post #7851589, i dont think those should be on the same level as simple blue and white stripes like post #6836580. also, it's weird that only stripes are forbidden when cow prints and other patterns like post #10282472 are allowed, despite mostly having the same white ratio as stripes and "polluting" white bikini as much as stripes would.
