X-Com Gardening

The series (post reboot which is what all of the art is of and is the more recent games) doesn't have a dash in it's name, the others are just sequels and spin offs.

So, just double-checking here, there is absolutely no art under the tag that relates to the pre-reboot X-COM games?

Any post tagged X-Com older than 13 years ago is by default related to the pre-reboot series, because the first reboot game was in 2012. So, post #913101, post #625778, post #522459, post #929651, post #929135, post #929134, and post #929127 all relate to the pre-reboot games.

There may be more recent art that relates, too, but these all do automatically.

So the real issue here is the fact that X-COM the tag is currently ambiguous on whether or not it refers to the pre-reboot or post-reboot series of games.

I guess? There really isn't that big a difference between pre- and post-reboot X-Com in terms of gameplay, and the games from the reboot series that are substantially different enough to be tagged already have their own tags: XCom 2 (misspelled in the BUR above) and XCom: Chimera Squad. That said, a utility alias may be helpful for those who forget the hyphen in X-Com, and both the above games do need implications.

Do these posts need an x-com_(classic) tag? What about the reboot, or does it not matter as much?

I don't really think it matters that much. Looking through, there's only 4 posts that are very clearly the reboot version, but not applicable under XCom 2 or Chimera tags: post #3160392, post #2699464, post #8542587, and post #1843153. We could create an xcom_(reboot) tag for them, which would cover them, but most new art under the X-Com tag that relates to the reboot would be tagged XCom 2 anyway, so a reboot tag would be mostly a duplicate for XCom 2.

As to a tag for Classic, most of the art that isn't of the game box itself (e.g. post #3410083 and post #3988745) can be applicable to both the reboot and the classic versions. We just know that the posts quoted above would have had to be the classic version due to the simple fact that they came out before the reboots were made. Most of the enemies are still the same, the reaction to said enemies is still the same (post #1287019), and so on.

Wouldn't UFO: Enemy Unknown be the native country title, if we have to have a tag for the first game? (I wasn't able to find any art of the 'classic' series' other two games with a quick glance.)
