Missing implications. That's all.

Is there anything else that I'm missing? Just let me know.

I think the Marvel Cinematic Universe tag was a mistake. It adds a lot of tag bloat to posts and nobody actually searches for it. It gets about 250 searches per week compared to 30k per week for Marvel Rivals.

We end up with tag lists like this:

This happens because Captain America: The Winter Soldier goes under two separate copyright tags, and there's no way to show that without putting it under both. We should avoid having copyright tags that imply two separate copyrights for this reason.

A lot of times you can't even tell whether something is the movie version of a character, or the comic book or videogame version. And sometimes MCU gets tagged even when it's visibly not the movie character.

Yeah, at this point the MCU is too large and sprawling to be a tag in the hierarchy. At the very least the individual films should be removed from implying it; maybe the tag can stick around if it's a company connection sorta deal/referencing the franchise as a whole?

with every marvel rivals post having like, 50 series tags on it i've started to wonder... is it actually worth it having all of these? most of the time i just have to remove them for being wrong.

should marvel rivals negate all the other copyright tags? for example, a marvel rivals sue storm post wouldn't have a fantastic four copytag.

One of my recent endeavors (that has been put on hold in favor of me getting distracted with other endeavors) was cleaning up Fate tags, and my metric was generally "unless they're not actually implemented in the game there's no reason to keep copytags aside from Fate/Grand Order". I'm guessing something similar applies here with Rivals—keeping the copytags focused helps people search for specific designs better and not require as many nested qualifier tags. If the character has a design unique to a specific entry in a franchise, it should point directly to that entry, imo.

Missing implications for the Spider-Man franchise. These tags may not have many posts, but I feel like they had to be linked to its parent tag, for consistency's sake, or something, etc.

I mean, the issue is the fact that someone searching the Fantastic Four would want to see everything related to them and their villains, so I think there'd be an uphill battle trying to, say, have it so that fanart of Sue Storm in Marvel Rivals only gets that copytag and not the Fantastic Four tag too. Same with X-Men, you'd be insane to suggest that not every Wolverine post should be under that tag. They're glorified group tags that also serve as copytags because, putting all the adaptations aside, there'd be no other way to group these characters together in their original comic context unless you made a copytag specifically for that too.

It'd be a complete restructuring of how we handle comic book character copytagging.
