Danbooru

"Aoi Hana" character tags check request

Posted under General

Once again, I am asking for help with Japanese. This time, it is about tagging aoi_hana (Sweet Blue Flowers) characters.

  • hon'atsugi_yoko:
    • Does Danbooru use apostrophes to point out syllabic n's? I would assume not, since other tags use the junichirou spelling, not jun'ichirou.
    • Wikipedia gives her name as 本厚木 洋子, Hon'atsugi Yōko.
  • mogi_miwa:
    • Wikipedia gives her name as 茂木 美和, Motegi Miwa.
    • Mogii is said to be her nickname.
  • Haruka:
    • Currently untagged, but I am positive she is featured in post #532220 (first on the left) and 80% sure she is the third girl in post #514079.
    • Wikipedia gives her name as 大野 春花, Ōno Haruka. Is the correct waapuro romanization of her family name Ouno or Oono?

Thank you for your time.

I'm not sure if there's any set policy on that. At least I don't think anything was decided last time it was asked. I really think the apostrophes should be in there, though (there's some Koihime Musou characters that need to be fixed).

With a family name starting in 大, I think Ō is almost always "Oo". This is what Japanese Wikipedia gives too: 大野 春花(おおの はるか)

We have no policy but in practice don't seem to use them.

And her tag would be _youko either way. I've made it honatsuki_youko for now to match our usual unofficial approach but I'm totally open for having a discussion on whether we want to institute the apostrophes as a standard romanization practice. I'll start a thread on it. [Edit: forum #31038]

Probably from back when ANN had the wrong name in their listing, I assume. Edited to the right name.

Yeah, almost definitely oono_haruka. Searching that name on pixiv brings up a few images that aren't terribly consistent in terms of design but look close enough to be her. Compared to other Aoi Hana characters anyway.
