The star_(symbol) wiki mentions that it should be used for The five-pointed (★) star symbol.
However, I think the five-pointed star should be moved to a tag of it's own, and star_(symbol) should be turned into an umbrella tag for using other shapes in place of the common five-pointed star in order to represent stars, such as post #5312140, post #4753374 (notice the six-pointed or four-pointed stars), or post #5474151.
If I remember topic #16904 correctly, star_(symbol) was supposed to be used for any abstract star symbols/shapes that aren’t stars in the sky. I don’t think the five-pointed star in the wiki was meant literally, it’s supposed to be an example of what qualifies.
In all of those images, I would tag the star as star ornament instead, even if no one's holding it. It's basically the thing that goes on a Christmas tree. Or whatever 3D shape it is

Noted, I feel like a separate tag for four- or five-pointed stars could be useful, but for now I'll just change the wiki.

By the way, are small stellated dodecahedron, stellated octahedron, or other shape tags useful enough? this is probably for a different topic
