Well, it does form a heart and the heart tag is used for the heart symbol. Since other things like heart_hands do also imply heart, I thought this could also work.

-1. I believe the heart tag should be manually applied to those like post #1181772, but not applied to ones like post #1721947 and post #2292983.
The criteria for whether it receives the heart tag or not is whether the ahoge creates a clearly recognizable heart shape.
There is pretty much two types of shapes under the heart_ahoge tag. Complete Heart-shaped and m-shaped ahoges. Depending on how you bend the m, it can come out heart-ish shaped (post #2303095) or not (post #2030415). Whether the m-shape is heart-shaped enough to warrant being tagged heart will have to be an individual decision made for each individual image, as opposed to a blanket tagging for all images.
The heart_ahoge tag, despite its naming, seems to be better defined as an ahoge featuring an m-shaped kink than actually possessing a true heart-shape.

I see what you are wanting to say here. And there really is some kind of difference here.
So maybe instead of rejecting this request, how about creating a new tag, something like "m_ahoge" or "m-shaped_ahoge"? But I honestly don't know how much sense this would make as a tag...
