Man, I didn't even think of that. Imagine getting your dream job and the only thing it leads to a suicide attempt. That's bloody heartbreaking.
And then getting suspended pending termination for complaining about management's bullying, while in the hospital after her attempt brought about by management's bullying.
It’s genuinely disheartening to think about what she went through behind the scenes and yet she still managed to put on a happy face for her streams. It’s incredibly sad to see her journey as Selen end like this despite all the hard work she put in and all the great times she no doubt had as a NijiEN member. And it’s even more depressing to think about but I don’t even want to imagine what the other members are potentially going through as well. Selen was a huge part of NijiEN, she helped BUILD the damn branch and she still got mistreated and bullied.
Yes, but at this point the termination is the least depressing part about the situation, going by what she wrote on her private twitter at least.
Least depressing is one way to put it, everyone I follow and know are happy she's finally free. Might seem weird but that termination is the best thing to happen to her, minus all the smearing from Niji of course.

Now that I think of it, I agree, but when I made my comment the mood kinda got to me.
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Dokibird followed a similar path KSon took; Staying indie for a while before joining VShojo down the road as a result of regularly getting help and/or advise from VShojo members. Hololive is... unlikely. Not with her at nearly 300k subs already. Regardless, I still expect her to collab with a toxic owl somewhere down the road now that she doesn't have Kurosanji getting in the way.
I don't think she's going to go for another agency; I'd imagine the shit Anycolor put her through has soured her outlook on ever dealing with one again.
Which is a shame because aside from the hiccups with Silvervale, Vei and Nyanners I've not heard much bad about Vshojo, and AFAIK you have to actually do something egregious for Hololive to consider firing you.

Agree. People said is more likely the person behind Pomu might apply now a 3rd time and get in (literally, everything Pomu wanted to do is the very thing Holo does).
But honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the tOwl try to convince her instead. I know it would not happen but it will be funny.

So far Hololive has only fired two talents, both for leaking sensitive info to outside parties. The first time was because the talent in question wasn't in the most sound mental state at the time, and evidence that's come to light since has painted her as a very flawed person behind the scenes. The second termination was due to a complete accident on the talent's part, to the point where it felt like they would have likely let her off the hook if protocol didn't dictate that she be let go. Even then they were nice enough to let her give one last message to her fans before she left.
As for whether Selen/Doki could make it in I think that would come down to whether the management at Hololive believe what Niji accused her of or not. A rap sheet like that, real or fake, would be career ending for anyone else in the Japanese entertainment industry. Honestly I feel like VShoujo is her best bet if she's looking to join another corporation. Not only is it more lax but she can just keep using her Dokibird persona.

Holo has terminated at least three talents. Besides the two you mentioned, the third is Hitomi Chris. Based on what we know, iirc the generally accepted reason is that she was in an inappropriate relationship with a manager. She was also the reason Holo stopped hiring minors.

And the reason why Mel was lump into the 1st Gen, as she was supposed to be her own thing like most of what it was comprise as 0th gen later.

Ah, I forgot about her. All of my sources never specified why she left so I didn't know if it was contract termination like the others or some other reason, hence why I left her out. That and the fact that she only had one stream and no one ever mentions her meant she just slipped my mind.

I'm so glad we got to hear her voice again. I'm so glad her suicide attempt didn't succeed. Even now, when I think about how close we came to losing a one-in-seven-billion talent from this world, well I can't think about it. It's really a wakeup call that Niji even thought this could be a business-as-usual sort of thing, like they clearly weren't expecting anyone to care. Fucking psychotic.
Hope the Company falls into the sea, or at least the EN branch so they'll all be free. It won't be easy, but every person employed there has the capability to make it big as an indie. Hell, make a Vshojo-style agency specifically for Rainbow Graduates or something so you can stick together if you feel like, just without being bullied until you kill yourselves this time.

Typical Japanese behavior to be ruthless to other foreigners. Never change, Japan.
Kurosanji just decided to drive a fuel truck into this dumpster fire, dragging their streamers into this and sharing to them Doki's private information that was supposed to stay with their lawyers.

Yup and if anyone is interested in see what a forest fire combined with a 20 car pileup looks like I'd definitely recommend checking out the Nijisanji subreddit. They are not having a good time over there.
For just one, single second, I actually thought, "There really isn't any way they could make this worse. I mean, they would have to be trying to make it worse, it couldn't just be dismissed as incompetence at that point." And then holy fucking shit did they make it so much worse. Who the fuck is making these insane decisions?

Then they released the standard corporate "we're sorry and will improve" video featuring their CEO, which comes off as incredibly tone deaf after the slash and burn right before it.

I'm pretty sure the mods there have either given up or are siding with the rebellion. Even then, the place was smoldering embers before Niji poured gasoline on it with that stunt.
Fucking hell, the only way they could look even worse at this point is if they decide to pull a Wizards of the Coast and hire mercs to raid Doki's home or something.
Reading that post made my heart drop into my stomach. As someone who was also hospitalized for suicidality, this is crushing to read. Thank god, THANK GOD, we live in the universe where this didn't end in tragedy.
