She's basically 1st generation ship girl that Ido-admiral and the old commander saw when their ship was attacked by an abyssal (Before they both became 'Admirals').

She could be both: was sunk at the beginning of of the war and was later retrieved and saved thanks to abyssal technology implantation (I'm still suspicious of the violet lighting around her in her previous page), that might explain why she still has that scar despite shipgirl reparation erasing all traces of battle. (except the scars they were "born" with)

Nah, Idomiral's thing is that he's piss poor at communicating with (ship)girls. Not even his closest subordinates (Sazanami, Nagato, and Yodo) could read him before Graf arrived. It took a whole arc (several months in-universe) for him to talk about his past with Graf, his would-be wife.
