Mahatma is Sanskrit for "Great Soul." The real Helena used the word to describe the "Hidden Masters" of Theosophy, but now the English version of the word has mutated to mean the Hindu equivalent of saints, like Mahatma Gandhi.

FGO Helena uses it in the original meaning, at least.
Hold on, I play FGO, but I don't actually understand what Altera's doing here. Is there something I missed? I know that the five cards you get are randomly chosen from all of the Servants' cards (meaning a group of either five, ten, or fifteen cards, depending on how many of your Servants are dead), but, like... why is she trying to memorize them? Is it, like, a situation where the cards you get on your first turn aren't available anymore until you use up the rest of the cards, then they replenish? So, like, if you get all three of Kiyohime's Buster cards on the first turn, you won't get any more Kiyohime Buster cards until the fourth turn? If so, that's useful information to know. Way more useful than the tips the game actually gives you, like "Getting hit charges your NP, too!" (no duh, I can clearly see that), or "Tapping an already-selected command card will deselect that card!" (yeah, I figured, that's kind of how most good video game UIs work).

Yes, that's pretty much it. Not to mention combination of cards can turn the battle around; you might regret not taking those three art cards when it came out when it turns out you still need some NP charge, for example.

If I remember correctly, they do explain that on the loading screen. It's just that it's random, so you might've not seen it yet. They should've added a place where you can read the tips.
I don't know where she gets the time to practice counting cards with all the grinding that needs to be done.
