A pointed, crown-like symbol drawn next to a character's head to represent surprise, understanding or shock. Depending on the style, it may have the appearance of a crown, a series of hash marks or some variation thereof. Usually there are three points, though there is some variation.

Not to be confused with notice lines, which look more like three lines pointing outward: \|/.
