I was just reminded of the married couple that are the protagonists of Futari Ecchi; the husband Makoto once laments how he never met his beloved wife Yura during high school (they only met when they were already in their early/mid-20s), since she would've made that period of his life a lot better. To cheer him up, Yura dresses up in her high school outfit (turns out it still fits her) and the two pretend to be high school students, acting out a hypothetical confession scene between them.
Maan Kouhai-chan would have had a lot of lookers like what Ai's experiencing (interestingly enough, Ai should be the current "enemy" of the girls by being cute and having better assets)
