    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 2357

I'd like to go see Ayers Rock myself, though! But tours cost ¥200-300K per person! It seems Sanae-san's favorite are Adelie penguins, BTW.

And so, since there wasn't much gag-worthy material, today ends the Tama Animal Park chapter. The Yuyu-sama person finished off two servings at the curry restaurant where they stopped by on the way back. We bought cake on the way back and then went home. The end.

Reader-added tags include "Welcome to Australia", "No use crying over spilt milk", and "Penguinium: Fully charged!"

Not having a g'day, mate? No worries, just take the survey:

What do you want to see in Australia?
    • Kangaroos
    • Koalas
    • Wombats
    • Dingos
    • Budgies

    Budgies!

Though, on that note: Really? No Royal Penguins in any of the Japanese zoos? Even at Tobu?

    Budgies here!

Also, I'm willing to bet anything you want that if they went on that trip, Kogasa-san would make it rain even in Australia.

Yep. Everything in Australia is deadly.
Weather, terrain, plants, animals, and if you piss them off, even the People...

I hear some of the sheep aren't deadly.

    Wikipedia (as if) said:

The Gold Coast penguin (Eudyptes hiyakeshitaus), also known as the Parking Meter penguin, or the Blingin' penguin, is the only penguin known to reside in a warm-climate area.

...is the joke I wanted to make, but the real Wikipedia says it's a myth that penguins only live in cold climates, and they can actually be found even in the Galápagos Islands, virtually right on the equator, so. Shows what I know.

They outnumber the humans there by about three to one, so its for the best for out species that that are mostly docile.

Saw someone retweet this last night as "Peak NZ": Police chase stopped by a herd of sheep.

While technically not deadly, it's still a force to be reckoned with.

Edit: ...Then we get the Zombie Sheep...

    • Budgies

I've seen things, I've seen them with my eyes,
I've seen things; they're often in disguise.

    Like carrots, handbags, cheese, toilets,
    Russians, planets, hamsters, weddings,
    Poets, Stalin, Kuala Lumpur!
    Pygmies, budgies, Kuala Lumpur!

万 = 10,000. K = 1000. Therefore 20万円 = ¥200,000 = ¥200K = about $2000, not ¥20K = about $200. I don't think you could even make a return flight for $200. Or am I missing something? I don't want to second-guess an obviously much more capable translator, but I really don't see how the commentary version it was reverted to could possibly be right...

Good catch; I just wasn't paying close enough attention.
