They're kids, so being under 5'4 is pretty normal at their age. I'm also pretty sure they're taller than 5'4 when they grow up.
I was just almost certain that the Saiyan prince would be taller than me, and I'm 165 cm which is really short (I put my life on the line every time an ant shows up outside my home...)

I know you're probably joking, but I wrote my reasons above and tried to add some context to the situation
