volvo
Name shared by two formerly-related Swedish companies. Most commonly associated with Volvo Cars, a luxury vehicle manufacturer, sold by parent conglomerate Volvo Group to Ford in 1999, and then by Ford to Geely in 2010.
Previously Volvo's subsidiary, Polestar became a standalone brand in 2017, partially owned by Volvo and Geely.
Volvo Group keeps the businesses of producing buses, trucks, and construction equipment, and has acquired Renault's truck division along with its subsidiary Mack Trucks.
