true lies

トゥルーライズ

True Lies is a 1994 action comedy movie written and directed by James Cameron, based on the 1991 French movie "La Totale!".

The movie follows Harry Tasker (Arnold Schwarzenegger), a mild-mannered computer hardware salesman whose wife Helen (Jamie Lee Curtis) and daughter Dana (Eliza Dushku) thinks Harry is a regular salesman who travels a lot. Unknown to his family, Harry is actually a secret agent for the top-secret Omega Sector where he works with his partner Albert "Gib" Gibson(Tom Arnold). When Harry's boss Spencer Trilby (Charlton Heston) assigned Harry's team to investigate art dealer Juno Skinner (Tia Carrere), who has links to the Islamic terrorist group Crimson Jihad led by Salim Abu Aziz (Art Malik), these leds to a series of events where Helen, whose having a midlife crisis and wanting adventure, gets seduced by Simon(Bill Paxton), a conman who tricks women into thinking he's a secret agent and the Tasker family learning the truth of Harry's double life after the Crimson Jihad targets his family.

True Lies received mostly positive reviews from critics, and ultimately grossed $378 million worldwide at the box office, becoming the third-highest-grossing film of 1994. A 2023 TV adaptation aired on CBS before being cancelled after one season.
