The sequel to the oiriginal first Star Wars film from the 70s.

The Empire Strikes Back is the darker and more exciting (and dramatic) entry in the series released in 1980.

The story continues the adventures of Luke Skywalker and the Rebels as they flee the wrath of the mighty Galactic Empire. It culminates in an amazing plot twist revelation that left audiences in awe the first time the movie was shown in cinemas.

It is considered one of the best film sequels ever made and is considered also the best Star Wars movie ever.

Return of the Jedi (1983) followed Empire, concluding the original Star Wars trilogy.
