sophocles (pokemon)
Sophocles is a character introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon. He is one of Alola's Trial Captains, specializing in the Electric type. In Sophocles' trial, the player battles a Totem Vikavolt. In Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, they fight a Totem Togedemaru instead.
Sophocles inherited the position of captain from his cousin, Molayne, who he shares a close bond with. He is into mechanics, having invented various machines, and is the founder of the Festival Plaza. However, he is quite shy, and afraid of the dark. Sophocles is one of the trainers who can challenge the player for the title of Champion.
In the anime, Sophocles is also one of Ash's classmates. He is a intelligent but shy boy who became fascinated with space at a young age.
