Yakumo Yukari's 800+-year-old kyuubi kitsune shikigami who specializes in black magic and mathematics. She is also powerful enough to have her own shikigami, a nekomata named Chen, to whom she is portrayed to act motherly towards prominently in fanworks. Yukari treats Ran as closer to a tool that follows orders, sometimes to such an extent that Yukari wishes she had more free will. In subsequent games and manga, it has been revealed that Ran is actually parasitically taking host of a nine-tailed fox youkai who was once an inhabitant of the Animal Realm, and was friends with Toutetsu Yuuma.
She is notorious in many fanworks as a streaker, earning her the nickname Suppa Tenko ("Naked Heavenly Fox"), and for bursting into an excessive nosebleed if Chen does anything exceptionally cute.
She is a fox girl with has short blonde hair and yellow eyes, but she usually has her ears covered by her white mob cap and her multiple tails under her dress. Her outfit is a longwhite dress with long sleeves and a blue tabard.
