retrofuturistic retrofuture レトロフューチャー
An art movement based around the future as depicted by the people of the past. Retrofuturistic art tends to feature architectural and fashion design styles of the '60s and '70s, recently-obsolete technology, a focus on space exploration, rounded and freeform shapes, bright colors, and other elements common within depictions of the future throughout history.
On average, retrofuturistic art tends to have a more optimistic outlook towards the future, as opposed to the dystopian cyberpunk depictions common in modern sci-fi.
