kochiya sanae
The "Human of the Worshipped Wind". Stage 5 boss of Touhou's Mountain of Faith and later a recurring playable character. Has the power to create miracles.
She is the miko of the Moriya Shrine under the patronage of Yasaka Kanako and also direct descendant of the shrine's original deity, Moriya Suwako. Sanae and her deities moved into Gensokyo due to waning faith of humans from the outside world, making her one of the only humans from the 21st century. Recent games in the main series as well as certain side works consider her a type of deity in her own right.
She has long green hair, with a single sidelock. Her eyes are green or blue. In her hair are snake and frog hair ornaments and a single hair tube. She is frequently depicted with large breasts. She wears a nontraditional miko outfit consisting of a sleeveless collared white shirt (that is sometimes depicted as a crop top) with detached wide white sleeves, a long frilled blue skirt, white socks, and brown shoes, her signature gohei is different from the norm as it has straight paper decorations. As of Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost, she is additionally shown with wings. Doujins sometimes portray her wearing a modern school uniform as homage to her origins.
She is a generally good, if somewhat naive and clumsy, girl, but also an overeager youkai hunter (leading to her portrayal of frequently bullying Tatara Kogasa after a scene in Undefined Fantastic Object where Sanae gave scathing words against the latter).
She is occasionally depicted as a generation behind due to Mountain of Faith first releasing in 2007.
She is sometimes called "2P Reimu" or "Miko Luigi" due to Reimu's red outfit compared to Sanae's green outfit.
