essex (azur lane)

The personification of the US Navy aircraft carrier USS Essex (CV-9) in Azur Lane. Character design by Kexue, voiced by Mizuhashi Kaori.

She has long blue hair tied into a pair of twintails, medium / large breasts, and brown eyes. Her uniform is a low cut blue dress with red and white accents as well as "Essex" written vertically along her front-left, and a red necktie. Over this is an open blue cloak with vertical slits along the full length of the sides along her arms to reach through. She wears a pair of black pantyhose, and a pair of boots with red and white stripes on the top flaps.

Her rigging is composed of a crossbow with a mini flight deck on top marked "9," and two mounted flight decks. Comparing these to Intrepid, it is likely these split along the width at point about halfway along the length of the flight deck.

Her chibi's Essex face became somewhat of a meme inside the community.
