elysium (movie)
Elysium is a 2013 American science fiction, cyberpunk action-thriller film written, co-produced and directed by Neill Blomkamp and starring Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, Alice Braga and Diego Luna. It was released on August 9, 2013.
The film takes place in the year 2154, when two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a luxurious space station called "Elysium" and the poor, who live on an overpopulated and contaminated Earth.
The movie explores political and sociological themes such as immigration, overpopulation, transhumanism, health care, exploitation and class issues.
