churchill (tank)
The Tank, Infantry, Mk IV (A22) "Churchill" was a British heavy infantry tank used in World War II, best known for its heavy armour, large longitudinal chassis with all-around tracks with multiple bogies, and its use as the basis of many specialist vehicles. It was one of the heaviest Allied tanks of the war.
Variants
- Churchill AVRE Variant where the main gun was replaced with a 230mm spigot mortar, to be used by the Royal Engineers to clear obstacles.
- Churchill Crocodile Variant where the hull-mounted machine gun was replaced with a flamethrower, it's fuel carried in a carriage towed behind the tank.
