Umamusume: Pretty Derby is a mobile game developed and published by Cygames featuring girls based on famous racehorses. The game was first announced in 2016 and was initially slated for a Fall 2018 release, only for development to start out from scratch; with the ultimate release date pushed back to Febuary 2021. June 24, 2024 In livestream Pakatube!, the developers announced the release of an English version of the game for June 26, 2025. On June 21, 2023, a party game spinoff, Umamusume: Party Dash, was announced for a 2024 Worldwide.
The franchise received several anime adaptations, with the first season airing before the game's official release in Spring 2018, and a second season launching alongside the game in Winter 2021. A spinoff featuring Narita Top Road was aired for Spring 2023. The third season premiered in Fall 2023, followed by an anime film centered on Jungle Pocket in May 2024. An anime adaptation of the manga Umamusume: Cinderella Gray is currently in the works and is slated for a 2025 release.
There is also the Umayon spinoff, which was a 4koma manga that was adapted into an anime short in 2020, and the Umayuru spinoff which was released directly on the Umamusume's YouTube channel in Fall 2022.
