The 22nd and 23rd installments of the long-running Ultra Series, and the start of the Ultra Galaxy sub-series. It adapts the concept of the Dai-Kaijuu Battle: ULTRA MONSTERScarddass arcade game, itself the start of the Dai-Kaijuu Battle sub-series (covering the arcade games and ports, manga, and this show), and features an original plot.
Unlike previous entries, this show does not focus on Ultramen, instead focusing on kaiju battling each other, akin to Pokemon (itself inspired by Ultraseven's Capsule Monsters). It follows the ZAP SPACY team, and in particular, Reimon, a Reionic, who can summon kaiju to fight with using his Battlenizer.
