Do not use this tag under movies based on real life events such as Elephant and Zero Day since their perpetrators and crimes are fictional. In addition, do not use this tag under non-murderous perpetrators (ex. Jeffrey Epstein) as true crime specifically refers to murderers or victims of murder cases instead of general criminals.
In regards to victims of murder cases, only use this tag if the victim is solely or primarily known for their murder case and references it. If it's a tribute or memorial for the victim or has the date they passed (post #11309712), do not use this tag. If they were a public figure beforehand (ex. Christina Grimmie), do not use this tag as well.
In regards to perpetrators who were public figures prior (ex. D4VD), only use this tag if the post was created after the crime and references it.
