In this scene, the male protagonist Izumi Yuuki is awed by the sight of his girlfriend Shikimori Miyako's unusually cool and serious sides (shown to tied her own hair in the first panel) during her PE class to the point that he initially doesn't recognise her, especially since she is normally quite upbeat and girly. His friend then reminds him that the "hot girl" is actually his own girlfriend.
