A Kantai Collection character based on the Japanese Imperial Army amphibious assault ship Shinshuu Maru.

Appearance

Shinshuu Maru has long brown hair tied into a pair of braids and large breasts. She wears a black hooded capelet worn over a black dress and black boots. She is typically depicted with the hood up. Her rigging consists of a crane and a large ship deck with several smaller ships attached.

Her hooded appearance has led to some similarities with the later-released Sakamata Chloe, as both were drawn by the same artist.

Personality and history

While coming off as somewhat laid back, she does seem to bear a grudge against Mogami, whose torpedoes accidentally struck Shinshuu Maru during the Battle of Sunda Strait while engaging Houston and Perth, sinking Shinshuu Maru in the process (she was later salvaged and brought back into service). For decades, Fubuki was mistakenly blamed for the act before new research pointed to Mogami instead.
