Venom: Lethal Protector #4 (Mar. 1993)
Edit
A supervillain from the Marvel universe. Created by writer David Michelinie and artist Ron Lim, Scream first appeared in Venom: Lethal Protector #4 (Mar. 1993). It is usually depicted as an adversary to Spider-Man or Venom.
Phage was one of five symbiotes alongside Agony, Riot, Lasher and Scream created by the Life Foundation that were forcefully spawned from the Venom symbiote in hopes of creating a superhuman police force to protect their Utopian future. It would first bond with a security force officer named Carl Mach to become a guardian of the Foundation. Carl would be killed along with Phage's sibling's hosts by Scream and Donna Diego due to the latter's schizophrenia and the four symbiotes were imprisoned. Sometime later, the four escaped and formed the Hybrid symbiote, bonding with Guardsman Scott Washington. Other notable hosts include Lieutenant Rico Axelson and Buck Cashman.
As a symbiote, Phage gives its host multiple superpowers, including superhuman strength, stamina and durability, regeneration, wall-crawling, ESP (spider-sense) and constituent-matter generation/manipulation (bladed weapons). When bonded with a host, Phage has orange/yellow skin, large white eyes, numerous sharp teeth and claws.
