Venom: Lethal Protector #4 (Mar. 1993)
scream (marvel)
A supervillain from the Marvel universe. Created by writer David Michelinie and artist Ron Lim, Scream first appeared in Venom: Lethal Protector #4 (Mar. 1993). It is usually depicted as an adversary to Spider-Man or Venom.
Scream was one of five symbiotes alongside Agony, Phage, Riot and Lasher created by the Life Foundation that were forcefully spawned from the Venom symbiote in hopes of creating a superhuman police force to protect their Utopian future. It would first bond with a schizophrenic mercenary named Donna Diego to become a guardian of the Foundation. After Scream and Donna were ulitmately killed by Eddie Brock, Scream was resurrected by Knull years later and would bond to Patricia Robertson, where they would be controlled by Knull to hunt other symbiote hosts, leading them to attack Andrea Benton. Resisting Knull's control, Patricia sacrificed herself to save Andrea's life and Scream would then bond with Andrea. Sometime later, Scream let Carnage take control of Andrea's body and go on a rampage and feeling betrayed, Andrea used hellfire to burn away Carnage's corruption and kill Scream. Its remains were taken by Dr. Steven, who combined them with the Anti-Venom Serum to create Silence.
As a symbiote, Scream gives its host multiple superpowers, including superhuman strength, stamina and durability, regeneration, wall-crawling, ESP (spider-sense), constituent-matter generation/manipulation (hair), trichokinesis (prehensile hair) and winged flight. When bonded with a host, Scream has absurdly long two-tone red and yellow hair, multicolored red and yellow skin, large white eyes, numerous sharp teeth, and claws.
Scream appears in various Spider-man comics and media, including Marvel's Spider-Man 2 as a boss and Marvel Future Fight as a playable character.
