A group including at least three of Touhou's Old Maids: characters who possess an aura of maturity, possibly from being many centuries old.
The core members include Hijiri Byakuren, Saigyouji Yuyuko, Yagokoro Eirin, Yasaka Kanako, and Yakumo Yukari. Other characters, such as Junko, Hoshiguma Yuugi, and Matara Okina, may be included based on context. Kazami Yuuka was once occasionally featured with this group, but her appearances have decreased with the addition of Byakuren to the group. Shinki and Mima are sometimes, but rarely, included with this group also. Yuuka, Shinki, and Mima, having all originated in the PC-98 games, are sometimes referred to (retroactively) as the "Original Old Maids Alliance".
Referred to on Pixiv as the Touhou Gotairou, i.e. the Council of Five Elders (committee of daimyo formed by Toyotomi Hideyoshi to rule Japan until his son Hideyori came of age).
