However, even her experience and skills are not enough to defeat Kamille Bidan in his Gundam Mk II mobile suit who shots her down in a spaceduel early in the series, Lila realizing in her last moments how helpless "oldtypes" are against the powers of "newtypes" like Kamille.
This encounter would worsen the animosity between Kamille and Jerid Messa even further, as Jerid was secretely in love with the older woman.
