体育座り

The act of wrapping one's arms around the legs, usually in a sitting position. Sometimes used to express melancholy or contemplation. Not to be confused with leg lock, which is wrapping one's legs around another person.

Another specific use encompassed by this tag is taiikuzuwari, or 'sports sitting,' that is practiced specifically in Japanese primary and secondary physical education.
