The lasgun, or otherwise known as the lasrifle, is the standard-issued infantry weapon of the Astra Militarum. Compared to kinetic weapons such as the bolter or the T'aurailgun, it lacks stopping power, but its ease of production, the lack of ammunition requirement, and most important of all, the sheer amount of Imperial Guardsmen more or less makes up for the lasgun's shortcomings.
