The Berthier rifles and carbines were a family of bolt actionsmall arms that came in some variants, used in the FrenchArmy, and French Colonial Forces, from the 1890s to the beginning of World War II (1940). It was designed by André Berthier to partially supplant the Lebel Model 1886. Somehow similar to the Mosin-Nagant, the Berthier rifle features a straight grip stock, two handguard bands, and a 3 or 5-roundmagazine. Some models accept Chauchat magazines.
