The SV-001 (Super Vehicle 001) Metal Slug is the main protagonist playable battletank of SNK's Metal Slug series, driven by the Regular Army. It is very light, small and fast, has very resistant armor, is able to cross any type of terrain and is armed with a potent short barreled HE and AP cannon in its turret as well as dual vulcan machine guns with blue tracer bullets in its rear section.
Its design was inspired by the Bonapartetank from the Dominion manga published a decade before the release of Metal Slug.
