That happens with me and pets, I always feel that they show guest more attention. I know it's just because they are new and kind... but it still hurts.

My cat is the opposite. She'll hiss and swat at anyone that tries to pet her, if she even lets herself get seen in the first place. When no one is around though, she follows me around everywhere and is a massive suck up.

the roles are reversed with my cats. they get extremely jealous if they catch me spending more time with other people/animals, and they hide when guests come to visit.
