I do hope she does come back and they don't just scrap the design. I didn't see that many people that outright hated the design, just who it was supposed to represent.
This is why community feedback should be filtered and not taken as gospel, and why we can't have good things.
I hope Anson will be back. Even as a KGV-class I swear I have no idea what was wrong with her, she's not the first loli in Azur Lane (far from it) so really, what was wrong with the community this time.

She looks literally nothing like her sisters, and her sisters are extremely popular. If this was something that had happened before there were already four of them in the game, it probably wouldn't have been such a big deal. It definitely didn't help that the theory that she was the result of a miscommunication had so much evidence (and they basically confirmed it in the delay announcement).
Also, what was there even to filter this time? Literally everyone was complaining, even the Japanese players. Even the people that liked the design agreed that it wasn't a good fit for a KGV sister. If everyone is upset, maybe you should listen to them.

In other words: if one person says you smell, they're probably just an asshole. If everyone says you smell, check your shoe.
Tbh, at this point, best they can do is use her as basis for a new submarine CG.
Re-release that CG as is (except for the rigging, of course) and whichever submarine will have it might suffer popularity-wise, since it will be forever linked with the Anson incident.
