    Note: The is not a image scanner, but a plastic sheet.
    What she do is she has original handsketch, trace it on a plastic sheet.
    Then she put the plastic sheet onto the monitor, and she can trace from that.

    Trace-ception, I know...

    Also I can imagine how old is your average kancolle artist to have this kind of drawing idea lol...only those who have this kind of experience may imagine it.

    To be fair, most anime enthusiasts definitely has done this once or twice before. It's not a new thing in animation, either.

    To be honest, I wouldn't say that's old.
    You just need to grow up during the early to mid 2000s is all.

    Then again... That's what defined as old these days.
    I was shocked to find out highschoolers called me uncle the other day.
    It was surreal to realize that they were just about half my age. lol
