To be fair, most anime enthusiasts definitely has done this once or twice before. It's not a new thing in animation, either.

To be honest, I wouldn't say that's old. You just need to grow up during the early to mid 2000s is all.
Then again... That's what defined as old these days. I was shocked to find out highschoolers called me uncle the other day. It was surreal to realize that they were just about half my age. lol
