  • Snake in the Farce

More Tsutaja, the "Grass Snake" Pokemon - which just happens to have arms and legs.

This was an experiment in trying to speed up my comic artwork - I stripped out a lot of the unnecessary processes and flashy artwork effects to focus on pushing out a comic as quickly as possible.

I finished this comic in around 6 hours, give-or-take. This is about 1/10th of the time it has been taking me to finish comics previously.

I'll probably be aiming to create comics in this new style from now on, but I do have some older unfinished comics which use my old artworking methods so I'll try to finish those up eventually.

I know I haven't finished the "May Contain Nuts" four-part run yet, but it has become terribly clear to me that I have been giving myself way too much work to do when creating comics.

I've finished the linework for part 4 of May Contain Nuts, but it still needs a lot of work doing to it before I can submit it (don't worry I will put it up eventually).

I had real trouble drawing Tsutaja at first - its eyes are so huge in relation to the rest of its body it took me a good few attempts to get them looking right. I think I have the hang of drawing Tsutaja now though.

Please leave comments regarding my new comic art style if you feel you have something to say.

Update: On 23 November 2010, the Western name for the 'Grass Snake Pokemon' was announced as 'Snivy'.

    The artifacts! They burn!
    Seriously, it's like someone up-sized a thumbnail.

I'd love to see this done with the other starters.

Lol. Who in their right mind would try befriending a Seviper, much less provoke it.

*considers* A total in-your-face, devil-may-care, too-cool-for-school kinda dude with a heavy chip on his shoulder?

...And an even heavier death wish?

Tsutaaja has a fan-tail which is even more unusual in shape for a snake than Seviper's sword-tail, so his second argument is invalid as well.

Tsutaaja is the serpent that led to the fall of Pokéman. Once with limbs, it was cursed to slither along the Groud-types, lowest of all starters.
