This is just the author representation of the event of Koishi closing away her heart, but yes. The reason is that she didn't want to feel the hate of the people on the underground because of their ability of reading other people hearts.

At first glance you would think that this would be all cutesy but upon further investigation it turns out to have some pretty dark themes.

But the artery is attached to her headBAND. That would mean both the headband and the artery are stuck to her head, wouldn't it? How would the headband have gotten there in the first place?

I've always believed there's a hidden notch or something in Satori's hairband that fits comfortably around the actual point of connection to her head. The way it all comes together visually makes it look like one piece. In other words, something similar to what's depicted in post #1478088 with Satori's clothes.
