Trying to science this isn't really going anywhere yet (simplest explanation is that the circle embiggens then ensmollens and then is done... that would be a useful implementation). Maybe we need Patchy to show up with some answers... or maybe it will turn out that Marisa stole the book for this.

This would line up with my theory that it was intended to be single-use.

Embiggens Koa, she beats up Marisa, then ensmallens koa or ensmallens Marisa and go back to patchy
