This one and your comment remind me of that Gensokyo Tag Tournament series where Satori reads Cirno's mind and found she was coming from above. I was expecting Cirno to win or at least catch her by surprise by having nothing intelligible for Satori to read.

Not quite. Satori read Cirno's attack perfectly as it was just Cirno dropping a giant ice ball straight down towards her. What screwed her over is that they were fighting under SWR/UNL rules and the magically generated weather was literally raining meteorites on them for that match. One of the meteorites hit Cirno's giant ice ball, shattering it into a hail of razor sharp icicles, which wasn't planned by Cirno and thus couldn't be predicted by Satori. Cirno ended up winning due to sheer dumb luck.

The thing that I think would happen, and the post still cracks me up to this day, is where Satori tries to read Cirno's mind, and finds it is nothing but "9" in there... which proceeds to overwhelm and break Satori's mind.
