The original Japanese version (see parent post) uses "Amazoness" as the basic noun, resulting in stuff like "Amazoness-tachi"; the author probably intended to feminize the noun (like "giantess"), not realizing that Amazons were all-female by default. The translator is just being faithful.
Actually, it's pretty common for Japanese to misname "Amazon" as "Amazones(s)". I remember this from way back in the SNES days; "Amazoness" was Riesz' default job title in Seiken Densetsu 3.
It's probably a mistake dating back long before even that, but has gotten so ingrained in Japanese fantasy/gaming culture that it's become permanent.
what does happen when a human man will beat one or more of them beat him in battle? i always thought they only accept strong man at her side so their children become powerful like her parents because strengh is an immportend thing for the amazoness.

amazoness are warriors but will they follow the code of warriors? when a man want to challenge one of them to test her strengh will they accept? if he win in that case and they married then must the amazone follow this orders.
